My previous blogs have been about promoting my Associated Content articles. This can get very boring, especially if I don't publish articles often. This time, I'll just let everyone know what's going on in my life at the moment.
Currently, I am working at the Asheville Humane Society. It's not a bad job, but the pay is. I get to spend almost everyday surrounded by dogs! The building we are in should be condemned. The new building will not be ready for another year or two. Stop on by if you are in Asheville, and you could rescue an animal or two while you're at it. There's not much else going on with me. Work is consuming my life. My Spanish lessons are practically non-existent. My love life is none of your business, but I'll just say I am happy.
My kids are doing well. Cory (12) is in 7th grade! He attends Asheville Middle and is loving it so far. He is learning Spanish and Swedish. He also takes piano lessons. Laurel (9) is in 4th grade at Vance Elementary! (We call it "the hippie school". lol But we say it with love.) She is learning Spanish and already knows things that I don't. They both moved from country schools to city schools this year. It was a culture shock, but a necessary one.
The biggest news in my household is that John has a gig at The Sports Zone on September 25th from 8pm-10pm. He will be hosting open mike night with Kim White, formerly of the band Unit 50. He will be playing his acoustic guitar for this one. Don't be disappointed though. Hopefully soon, his band will start playing some gigs. I'll keep you posted.
That is enough for now. I have submitted my next article and it should be published and ready for viewing on 9-10-08, or thereabouts. It is a descriptive essay I had to write back at South College. It basically goes into my head for one night and describes how messed up I was back then. It is simultaneously funny and sad. I'll post a link to it when it comes out.
